COMPLIMENTARY SKIN CONSULTATION

A thorough skin consultation is essential because it provides valuable insights into an individual’s unique skin needs, concerns, and characteristics. It serves as the foundation for developing a personalized and effective skincare plan. Here are several reasons why a comprehensive skin consultation is necessary:

  • Understanding Individual Skin Type: Different people have varying skin types, such as oily, dry, combination, or sensitive. Knowing an individual’s skin type helps tailor skincare recommendations to address specific concerns and maintain a healthy balance.
  • Identifying Specific Skin Concerns: A consultation allows for the identification of specific skin issues, whether it’s acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, or other concerns. This information guides the selection of appropriate skincare products and treatments.
  • Assessing Lifestyle and Habits: Lifestyle factors, such as sun exposure, diet, and skincare habits, can impact skin health. A consultation provides an opportunity to discuss these factors, enabling skincare professionals to offer practical advice for maintaining healthy skin.
  • Determining Sensitivities and Allergies: Some individuals may have sensitivities or allergies to certain ingredients. A thorough consultation helps identify any potential triggers, ensuring that skincare recommendations are suitable and safe for the individual.
  • Customizing a Skincare Routine: With a clear understanding of an individual’s skin type, concerns, and lifestyle, a skincare professional can create a customized routine that may include cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and other products tailored to meet specific needs.
  • Setting Realistic Goals: Clients often have specific skincare goals, whether it’s achieving clearer skin, reducing wrinkles, or improving texture. A consultation helps set realistic expectations and develop a step-by-step plan to work towards these goals.
  • Adapting to Changes: Skin conditions and needs can evolve over time due to factors like age, climate, or hormonal changes. Regular consultations allow for adjustments to skincare routines, ensuring they remain effective as conditions change.

Chemical peels:

GLYCOLIC ACID

Glycolic acid chemical peels are a skincare treatment that involves applying a solution containing glycolic acid to the face. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. The purpose of the chemical peel is to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin by removing the outer layer of dead skin cells.

The benefits of glycolic acid chemical peels may include improved skin texture, reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and a more even skin tone. These peels are often used to address concerns such as sun damage, acne, and uneven pigmentation.

LACTIC ACID

Lactic acid chemical peels are a skincare treatment that involves the application of a solution containing lactic acid to the skin. Lactic acid is part of the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) family and is derived from sour milk or fermented fruits. The primary purpose of this chemical peel is to exfoliate the outer layer of the skin, encouraging the removal of dead skin cells and promoting the growth of new, healthier skin cells.

Lactic acid peels are known for their gentleness compared to some other chemical peels, making them suitable for individuals with sensitive skin. They are often chosen to address issues such as uneven pigmentation, fine lines, and mild sun damage. The level of peeling and downtime can vary based on the concentration of lactic acid used, with milder peels requiring less recovery

SALICYLIC ACID

Salicylic acid chemical peels are a skincare treatment involving the application of a solution containing salicylic acid to the skin. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) commonly derived from willow bark. The primary purpose of this chemical peel is to exfoliate the skin by penetrating into the pores, helping to unclog them and remove dead skin cells.

Salicylic acid peels are often chosen for their ability to address acne-related issues, such as blackheads, whiteheads, and mild to moderate acne. The peeling and recovery time associated with salicylic acid peels can vary based on the concentration of the acid and the individual’s skin sensitivity

MODIFIED JESSNER

A modified Jessner chemical peel is a skincare treatment that involves the application of a solution containing a combination of different acids, usually salicylic acid, lactic acid, and resorcinol. This type of chemical peel is a modified version of the original Jessner’s solution, which traditionally consists of resorcinol, salicylic acid, and lactic acid.

Modified Jessner peels are often chosen for their versatility in addressing various skin concerns, including acne, uneven pigmentation, and fine lines. The combination of acids allows for a more comprehensive approach to skin exfoliation and renewal. The peeling and recovery time associated with modified Jessner peels can vary, and it’s crucial to consult with a skincare professional or dermatologist to determine the most suitable formulation for an individual’s skin type and specific concerns

TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid)

A TCA (trichloroacetic acid) chemical peel is a skincare procedure that involves applying a solution containing TCA to the skin. TCA is a type of acid commonly used for its exfoliating properties. The primary goal of this chemical peel is to remove the outer layer of the skin, promoting the regeneration of new skin cells and addressing various skin concerns.

TCA peels are known for their versatility, and they can be customized to address various skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and uneven pigmentation. The peeling and recovery time associated with TCA peels can vary depending on the concentration of the acid used, with deeper peels requiring more downtime.

RETINOL

The Retinol Peel is an advanced-strength peel with a double action retinol (Vitamin A) focus. This peeling treatment includes 2% medical grade pure retinol in an advanced delivery system for enhanced skin absorption, a bio-retinoid (retinoid-like active ingredient) to greatly increase the physiological effects of retinol on cellular systems, offering a deeper result. Additionally, the formulation contains powerful soothing actives and anti-oxidants to deliver a multi-dimensional skin treatment.

It is a very safe yet effective peel with little to no downtime to:

  • Effectively and gently exfoliate the skin
  • Improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Tighten and firm skin and improve skin laxity
  • Promote a bright, rejuvenated, clear and even complexion

BIOLIGHT LED THERAPY

Biolight LED therapy, also known as light-emitting diode (LED) therapy, is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses different colors of light to address various skin concerns. In this therapy, specific wavelengths of light are emitted from LED devices and are applied to the skin. Each color of light has unique properties and benefits for the skin.

Here’s a brief explanation of the key components:

  • Red Light: Red light is often used to stimulate collagen production, promote cell renewal, and improve overall skin elasticity. It can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful look.
  • Blue Light: Blue light is known for its antibacterial properties and is often used to target acne-causing bacteria. It can help manage acne and prevent breakouts.
  • Green Light: Green light is used to address pigmentation issues and help even out skin tone. It can also have a calming effect on the skin.
  • Yellow Light: Yellow light is often used for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It can be beneficial for individuals with sensitive or irritated skin.

DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a small, sterile blade to gently exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells and remove fine vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz.” This treatment aims to promote smoother skin, enhance the absorption of skincare products, and create a more refined complexion.

In simpler terms, during a dermaplaning session, a trained skincare professional or dermatologist will carefully glide a blade across the surface of the skin, removing the outer layer of dead skin cells and any fine, soft facial hair. This process helps improve the skin’s texture, making it feel smoother and appear more radiant.

Dermaplaning is often chosen for its non-invasive nature and is suitable for most skin types. It can be performed as a standalone treatment or in combination with other skincare procedures. While dermaplaning provides immediate results, it’s important to note that the effects are temporary, and the procedure may need to be repeated periodically to maintain the desired outcome.

MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the skin by stimulating its natural healing process. During microneedling, a device with tiny, sterile needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries trigger the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity.

In simpler terms, microneedling involves creating very small, controlled “micro-injuries” in the skin to stimulate the body’s natural repair mechanisms. This process encourages the generation of new skin tissue, leading to smoother skin texture, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and an overall improvement in the skin’s appearance.

Microneedling is often used to address various skin concerns, including scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone. The procedure is typically performed by a trained skincare professional and may be done using a handheld device or a dermaroller.

The rejuvenation effects of microneedling become noticeable over time, as the skin continues to regenerate and produce new collagen. While the procedure may cause some temporary redness or mild discomfort, it is generally well-tolerated, and individuals often experience improved skin texture and a more youthful appearance as a result of the treatment.

RADIOFREQUENCEY

Radiofrequency (RF) treatment is a non-invasive or minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the tissues beneath the skin’s surface. This technology is employed to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin, resulting in a firmer and more youthful appearance.

Here’s a breakdown of how radiofrequency treatment works:

  • Collagen Stimulation: Radiofrequency energy is delivered to the targeted area, penetrating the skin and heating the deeper layers. This controlled heating stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that provides structure and firmness to the skin.
  • Tissue Tightening: The increased collagen production leads to a tightening effect on the skin. This is particularly beneficial for reducing sagging or laxity in areas such as the face, neck, and body.
  • Wrinkle Reduction: By promoting collagen synthesis, radiofrequency treatment can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, contributing to a smoother complexion.
  • Cellulite Improvement: In body treatments, radiofrequency is sometimes used to address cellulite by tightening the skin and improving its texture.
  • Non-Invasive Nature: One significant advantage of radiofrequency treatment is that it is typically non-invasive, meaning there is no need for incisions or downtime. It is a relatively comfortable procedure with minimal side effects.
  • Gradual Results: While some improvements may be visible immediately, the full benefits of radiofrequency treatment often become more apparent over time as collagen continues to remodel and regenerate.

Radiofrequency treatments can be performed on various areas of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, and thighs. The number of sessions needed and the duration of results can vary based on the individual’s skin condition and the specific device or technique used. As with any cosmetic procedure, consulting with a qualified skincare professional or dermatologist is crucial to determine if radiofrequency treatment is suitable for one’s specific needs and goals.

Fat freezing

Fat freezing, also known as cryolipolysis, is a cosmetic procedure that helps reduce stubborn pockets of fat in specific areas of the body. It works by using controlled cooling to freeze and destroy fat cells without harming the surrounding tissues. During the treatment, a device is applied to the targeted area, cooling the fat cells to a temperature where they crystallize and eventually undergo natural cell death. Over time, the body eliminates these dead fat cells, leading to a reduction in the treated area’s fat deposits. Fat freezing is a non-invasive method with minimal downtime, and results become noticeable gradually in the weeks and months following the procedure.

The number of sessions required to see results with fat freezing, also known as cryolipolysis , can vary from person to person. Typically, people start noticing changes in the treated area within a few weeks, with more visible results becoming apparent after 1 to 3 months.

However, achieving optimal results often involves multiple sessions. We recommend 1-4 sessions 30 days appart.

Some individuals may see significant improvement with just one session, while others may benefit from two or more sessions in the same area. The decision on the number of sessions depends on factors such as the targeted area, the amount of fat to be reduced, and individual responses to the treatment.

It’s important to book a complimentary consult , to assess your specific needs and create a personalized treatment plan. We can provide guidance on the number of sessions required based on your unique body characteristics and aesthetic goals.
